‘Break It Down’ comes from Sea Wolf’s upcoming album, Through A Dark Wood. The alternative approach to folk music Sea Wolf focuses on is what keeps his music relevant, despite his six-year gap between albums. This tune sounds as though he never went away. It combines a subtle yet pounding rhythm that exists in the background with a lyrical guitar accompaniment and lyrics touching on resilience and loss. He explains that “the working title for ‘Break It Down’ was ‘The Door’, and this theme of doors came up a lot for me during the making of the album. I think it was about transitions or passing from one phase of your life to the next, which I was very much in the middle of doing”. This track comes after the brilliant ‘Fear Of Failure’ and ‘Forever Nevermore’ which came earlier this year, and all three will be appearing on his new album, due for release on March 20^th, 2020. - Dan Peeke
